M-01: A Fascinating 3 Hour Walking Tour of Central Moscow

The perfect introductory walking tour of central Moscow designed to orientate and open up its hidden treasures. Your guide will take you along the main streets and less visited back roads to see the diversity of architectural styles from the austere and restrained Russian style to richly decorated Moscow Baroque, elegant Empire, fascinating Art Nouveau and even Pseudo-Chinese and Moorish. Hear stories and legends not found in the guidebooks as well as passing the most important sites in the city including the Bolshoi Theatre, Tverskaya street, GUM Department store, Red Square and St Basil’s Cathedral.

M-02: A 2 Hour Tour of Moscow’s Magnificent & Historic Metro System

Moscow’s metro is no ordinary public transport system but more an architectural work of art designed by the best Soviet architects and artists and is an integral part of the city not to be missed. Two of the stations are UNESCO World Heritage sites and another two were the winners of the World Fairs. This tour is not just visual though as we will be talking about the people who created this metro, their fate and the often tragic historical events which are associated with some stations. Exploring both the old and more modern stations, welcome to a world of mosaics, marble, statues and 8 million passengers!

M-03: 3 Hour Tour of Moscow’s Kremlin & the Heart of Russia

Moscow’s Kremlin is the true heart of Russia, it’s political epicentre and of huge importance for anyone interested in the history of both of the early Tsars and of the 20th Century Communist State. The large site contains architectural monuments from 6 centuries and you will see Palaces, Cathedrals (two of which we will enter) and the famous Ivan the Terrible Bell Tower during this tour. Note that this tour does not include the Armoury or Diamond Fund which need to be booked separately.

M-04: A 4 Hour Tour of the Iconic Kremlin Complex Including the Armoury

Moscow’s Kremlin is Russia’s political center and of huge importance for anyone interested in the history of both of the early Tsars and of the 20th Century Communist State. The large site contains architectural monuments from 6 centuries including Palaces, Cathedrals (two of which we will enter) and the famous Ivan the Terrible Bell Tower.

This tour also visits the Armoury, a treasure house of ancient Russian regalia, ceremonial tsar’s dresses, church hierarchs’ vestments, gold and silverware by Russian, European and Eastern masters, arms and armours, royal carriages and ceremonial horse harnesses. The visit includes the exhibit of the Cap of Monomakh, the Tsars’ crown that was passed from generation to generation.

M-05: 4 Hour Tour of the Kremlin Including the Diamond Fund

Moscow’s Kremlin is Russia’s political center and of huge importance for anyone interested in the history of both of the early Tsars and of the 20th Century Communist State. The large site contains architectural monuments from 6 centuries including Palaces, Cathedrals (two of which we will enter) and the famous Ivan the Terrible Bell Tower.

During the tour you will also visit the extraordinary Diamond Fund, a world-famous collection of precious stones, masterpieces of 18th and 19th century jewellery, Royal Regalia and platinum and gold nuggets. Note that we must pre-book tickets for the Diamond Fund as entry is limited and tickets timed.

M-06: 3 Hour Private Tour of Moscow’s Famous Pushkin Museum of Art

The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts has a superb collection of foreign art from the ancient through to the modern era. The Museum includes a significant collection of tinted plaster casts of famous ancient, medieval and Renaissance sculptures and a collection of original works of foreign artists and sculptors, together with objects of decorative art. This private tour gives an overview of the ground floor exhibits from Ancient Egypt as well as European paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries. It also covers some of the first floor rooms which exhibit public art of the 19th and 20th centuries, including one of the best collections of French impressionist paintings in the world.

M-07: 3 Hour Tour of the Beautiful Novodevitchy Convent & Cemetery

The Novodevitchy Convent is a jewel in the crown of Moscow’s convents and monasteries. Its white walls, towers topped by festive coronas, the magnificent Smolensky Cathedral and a the beautiful bell tower attract both Muscovites and tourists. Tranquil and charming today, the convent has a colourful history including such characters as Boris Godunov, Ivan the Terrible, Nicholas II, Napoleon and the many Russian Princesses and Tsarinas who were imprisoned or took the veil here. The tour also visits the Novodevitchy Cemetery, famous not only for it’s distinguished inhabitants but also graves of exceptional beauty and variety.

M-08: 3 Hour Visit to the Unique Stalin’s Command Bunker

In the 1930’s a whole underground town was built under a stadium and used by Stalin, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, as an emergency command centre during the years of the World War II. In Stalin’s Bunker you will find some of Stalin’s personal belongings as well as items connected with the war. You also get to understand WWII from a Russian perspective giving a greater depth of understanding of this period of history.

M-09: Learn About Russian Art in a 3 Hour Tour of the Tretyakov Gallery

The Tretyakov Art Gallery was officially opened in 1892 as a public state museum thanks to a successful young Moscow industrialist Pavel Tretyakov, who purchased paintings, drawings and sculptures from Russian artists. This museum contains works from 11th to 20th centuries including sacred icons, portraits and landscapes, famous Russian Realists’ paintings, the splendid creations of Russian Symbolism, Russian Impressionism and Art Nouveau. This tour offers a perfect introduction to Russian Art in one of Moscow’s most impressive museums.

M-10: 3 Hour Tour to Discover Moscow Through Its Literary History

A three hour tour by private car of sights of literary importance across Moscow as your guide brings the history of the city alive from a literary perspective. We visit places connected with some of the great Russian writers of the 19th and 20th centuries including Alexander Pushkin, Leo Tolstoi, Nikolai Gogol, Anton Chekhov, Bulgakov and the poet Vladimir Mayakovsky. You will also visit the house of the famous Soviet writer Maxim Gorky which is one of the best examples of Art Nouveau architecture in Moscow.

M-11: 5 Hour Tour of Moscow Focused on Its Important Jewish History

A five hour tour by private car devoted to sights connected with the cultural and religious life of different Jewish families in Moscow. We visit places associated with prominent Jewish intellectuals, such as the poet Mandelstam and the actor Michoels. During the tour we visit the Central Choral Synagogue, the Memorial Synagogue and the Holocaust Museum on Poklonnaya Gora. We also visit the communal center in Marina Rosha and the Jewish Museum to learn about the Pale of Settlement, the first generation of Soviet Jews who identified with the Revolution’s internationalism, which promised to eradicate all national prejudice and inequalities.

M-12: 3 Hour Tour to the Cold War Museum & Bunkers of SCP Taganskiy

An unforgettable tour through the secret tunnels and bunkers of SCP Taganskiy. Construction began in 1951 and on completion the Department for National Security of the USSR took responsibility for the bunker from where 2500 workers provided round-the-clock communication for the leaders of the state in case of nuclear attack. In the 1960’s Taganskiy was fully equipped as a nuclear bunker and could sustain 5000 people for several months without need of resupply.
