Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia and a truly unique destination that is for many a real highlight of the trip. Your guide and driver will pick you up from the train station and to drive the 290 km (5 hours) to Bayan Gobi, an area of sand dunes, willow trees, streams and bushes with the appearance of a desert. This landscape is 80km long and the widest part of the sand dune is 10 km. Check-in and lunch at the Ger camp located near to the sand dunes.

The sand dunes are the perfect place for Bactrian camel riding. After becoming familiar with the equipment and the basics of riding a camel, explore the sand dunes for 1 hour atop these beautiful animals (note that if there is no time today you will ride tomorrow morning). Mongolia is home to 70% of the world's population of the two-humped Bactrian camels.
You also have the opportunity to explore the sand dunes on foot before returning to the Ger camp for dinner and a free evening.
