Just some of the Highlights of a Trip to China

 BEIJING – THE GREAT WALL
Perhaps China’s most famous site and included in all our Beijing itineraries. Takes a day trip from Beijing to reach the best spots.

 XIAN’S TERRA COTTA WARRIORS
another one of China’s top attractions. The ranks of the warriors are impressive although Xian has many other sites to see as well.

 BULLET TRAINS
An increasingly used alternative not just to overnight trains but also flights with travel times often being comparable to flying factoring all in.

 SHANGHAI’S SKYLINE
China’s brash financial centre has an increasingly impressive skyline that is starting to give Hong Kong a run for its money in more ways than one.

 BEIJING’S FORBIDDEN CITY
Another must see in Beijing is the vast former home of several Dynasties, the Forbidden City located right in the centre of the city.

 YANGSHUO’S SCENERY
The area around Guilin and the more pleasant Yangshuo has some of China’s most iconic scenery providing nice balance to the cities.

 CHENGDU’S GIANT PANDAS
For many a trip to see the Giant Pandas in Chengdu is reason enough on its own to come to China. It is also possible to be a volunteer keeper for a day.

 CRUISE THE YANGTZE RIVER
The mighty Yangtze can be cruised with trips starting at 3 nights up to 7 nights making it one of China’s most popular attractions.

 TIBET’S POTALA PALACE
Lhasa is home to one of China’s most extraordinary buildings, the Potala Palace. Tibet makes for a fitting and adventurous addition to any trip.

EVEREST BASE CAMP IN TIBET
The best and most easily accessible views of Everest are from the Tibetan Base Camp which is best visited as part of a Lhasa to Kathmandu tour.

ANCIENT CITY OF PINGYAO
Off the beaten track but actually quite easy to fit in between Beijing and Xian, Pingyao is atmospheric of a much older China and well worth a visit.

HANGZHOU’S WEST LAKE
Just one hour from Shanghai by bullet train, the gardens and temples of Hangzhou’s West Lake are a superb place to learn about Chinese culture.

SUNRISE ON MT HUANGSHAN
The stunning yellow mountain offers up spectacular scenery and a famous sunrise for those with a good head for heights.

HONG KONG’S HARBOUR
This ex-British colony still feels distinct from the rest of China and with it’s nightlife, shopping and ease of travel makes for a great end to a Trans-Siberian trip.
