Headseast Ltd is a UK based, independent, family owned tour operator with a focus on Russia, Mongolia and China through our trading names and websites “The Trans-Siberian Travel Company” (TSTC) and “The China Travel Company” (TCTC).

We also own "The Luxury Train Travel Company" which expands what we offer here to trips on private and luxury trains worldwide and, for something quite different, "The Latin America Travel Company" which offers trips to Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Ecuador and the Galpagos Islands.

We understand that for many the Trans-Siberian really is a trip of a lifetime – the sort of trip that is often planned or considered for many years before the opportunity arises to make this extraordinary journey. A high number of our clients take the trip for a special birthday or anniversary.

We also know that despite Trans-Siberian travel planning being half the fun it can be quite daunting when dealing with so many variables in countries as diverse as Russia, Mongolia and China. We want you to get the most out of your tour with us and know your time available needs to be used wisely.

In order to achieve this and to give you a smooth running tour we specialize in private travel arrangements offering good standard, hand-picked accommodation, the best trains available to fit your dates and experienced local guides keen to share their passion for the destinations they call home.

We took our first Trans-Siberian rail trip in 1997 with countless subsequent journeys to both the main stops as well as many more off the beaten track destinations and take a pride in showing each of our clients why we think this trip really is deserving of the often used “trip of a lifetime” tag.

The Trans-Siberian can be an expensive trip and it is essential to know that all monies paid to any tour operator you use are safe, secure and fully refundable in the event that operator should cease trading.

In accordance with “The UK Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992” all clients booking with Headseast Ltd – trading as “The Trans-Siberian Travel Company” – are fully protected for both the initial deposit and subsequently the balance of all monies paid to us arising from cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements in the unlikely event of our insolvency.

If the trip you are booking with includes flights they must, by UK law, be protected by the ATOL scheme operated by the Civil Aviation Authority. Our ATOL number is 10287 – please click here to verify this number.

Many of the flights and flight-inclusive holidays on this website are financially protected by the ATOL scheme. But ATOL protection does not apply to all holiday and travel services listed on this website. Please ask us to confirm what protection may apply to your booking. If you do not receive an ATOL Certificate then the booking will not be ATOL protected. If you do receive an ATOL Certificate but all the parts of your trip are not listed on it, those parts will not be ATOL protected. If your holiday does NOT include any flights booked by us all money you pay us for your trip is still fully insured by the industry specialists at International Passenger Protection (IPP). As with the ATOL scheme, in the unlikely event of our insolvency you would receive a full refund on monies paid to us.

The respective laws accordingly to the country of residence of the passenger(s) usually only requires us to provide cover for Package & Linked Travel Arrangements, there is no requirement for Financial Protection of day trips or single elements, and none is provided unless the local law requires such. Headseast Ltd has taken out an insurance provided by International Passenger Protection Ltd (IPP) with Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe SE (LMIE) trading as Liberty Specialty Markets, a member of the Liberty Mutual Insurance Group. LMIE's registered office: 5-7 rue Leon Laval, L-3372, Leudelange, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Registered Number B232280 (Registre de Commerce et des Sociétés).  LMIE is a European public limited liability company and is supervised by the Commissariat aux Assurances and licensed by the Luxembourg Minister of Finance as an insurance and reinsurance company. This insurance is only valid for passengers who book and pay directly with/to Headseast Ltd.
