The Tsars Gold Private Train is the most popular of the tourist trains so booking as far ahead as you can is strongly advised. The busiest months of travel are August and September and cabins on these dates fill very quickly - often a year in advance. If you like the look of the Nostalgic comfort cabin class, that one seems to sell out first on all tour departures.

The Moscow to Beijing route tends to sell out before Beijing to Moscow. Departures in August and particularly September also sell out quickest.
